Important info

What to know before the meeting

To maximise the value of your meeting Please ensure that you have available any document or information relevant to your matter, including but not limited to:
  • Court Orders
  • Court Documents (filed applications, affidavits, etc…)
  • Correspondence (such as letters from the other party’s lawyer or relevant third parties)
  • Assets & Liabilities
  • any other documents you consider relevant – it is better to have documents that you don’t need than to not have documents you do!

Please note that:

  • Payment is required on the day unless you are an existing client with money in trust.
  • A 2-hour (120 minute) period has been allocated to ensure that (for most matters) there is sufficient time available to assist you and to avoid potential double-bookings.
  • You will only be charged for the actual time needed.

If you do not have a Will or you do but you can’t remember the last time you checked it or even what it contains then it would be prudent to have Sherlock Legal draft you a new smarter Will.

Our smarter Wills provide great flexibility and maximum protections for your beneficiaries from “predators and creditors”.

For Wills clients I have intake forms (electronic) for completion online which expedites the process, saving you time and money.

The cost of a Will is very much dependent upon the individual needs of the Testator (person making the Will) and the circumstances of their beneficiaries, and the complexity of meeting those needs and circumstances. As such, it is not possible to provide you a fixed cost prior to an appointment.

At the conclusion of the appointment Sherlock Legal will provide you a fixed cost with no hidden fees or charges.

However, as a guide only:

Simple Wills (which we do not recommend other than for persons with little to no estate) cost from $550 per person (inclusive of GST) – all inclusive, no hidden fees or charges.

Smarter Wills incorporate Testamentary Discretionary Trusts and provide substantial and significant benefits and protections for your beneficiaries (that simple Wills don’t) including but not limited to:

  • tax savings
  • avoid / defer CGT gits to foreign beneficiaries
  • asset protection
  • family law protection
  • flexibility

the cost is from $1,650 per person (inclusive of GST) – all inclusive, no hidden fees or charges.

For the purposes of illustration:

  • a Simple Will is about 6 (six) pages; and
  • a Smarter Will is about 60 (sixty) pages.

10 times the size but not 10 times the price!

Discount packages

Discount consultations are available

Available for couples and those who bundle (with Smarter Wills) other documents such as:

  • Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPA)
  • Enduring Powers of Guardianship (EPG)
  • Advance Health Directives (AHD)

If you arrange an appointment with Sherlock Legal for Wills and proceed with having us prepare them for you, the cost of the appointment is waived.

However, if you decide not to proceed then you will only be charged for the appointment.
